Lately, I’ve been discovering more ways to create healthier meals. And one of the things that I’ve recently bought is a slow cooker from the Cuisinart family. I’ve read a lot of reviews on different slow cookers, but I’ve finally decided on this brand and model after reading an article about this Cuisinart slow cooker and watching this video.
Watch this demo video first so that you’ll have a quick overview of this kitchen appliance.
But for those who wants to read, I’d like to summarize the content of the video below. Let’s start with the name of the person who is doing the demo video for the Cuisinart Cook Central (that’s the name of the slow cooker model in this video). Her name is Mary Rogers and I love how she was able to share the different features of the Cuisinart slow cooker while at the end making one of the delicious recipes: Lemon slow cooked chicken.
In this video, she shows that the glass lid for the Cuisinart Cook Central is tempered which means it’s highly durable, it also stays cools, and is rimmed in steel. That is a great accent and design for this multi cooker. It also includes a steaming rack that has a high and low position for use. You’ll be using this steaming rack if you’re steaming vegetables or dumplings.
The aluminum crock pot size in this model is 6-quart. That’s more than enough for most families. It is non-stick and coated with teflon to make sure that your food won’t stick on the pot when cooking. It also has nice grooves that makes it easy to pour ingredients after cooking. It also has sturdy handles which makes it handling very easy.
The only disadvantage with it is that you can’t put the crock pot in the dishwasher or in the oven because of the plastic handles. So please remember that.
The housing of the Cuisinart slow cooker is stainless steel for aesthetic appeal and for each of cleaning. And in the front, you’ll find the programmable control panel. There are 3 programmable panels. It has 3 buttons, including the slow cook, brown/saute, and steam buttons. It allows for different types of cooking settings for your recipe needs.
The slow cooked function is also programmable for up to 24 hours. The steam button can be used for vegetables, dumplings, and other steamed foods. Depending on your recipe, you’ll probably use one of the buttons separately or a combination of browning/saute and slow cooking.
In this video, Mary Rogers made a Lemon Rosemary Chicken recipe, Yum! Just watching how she was able to create this chicken recipe makes me feel hungry and want to try more slow cooked recipes. She’s added Rosemary twigs to make it more flavorful, and more garlic to make it more fragrant. Finally, the lemon juice was added to this recipe and slow cooked for up to 2 hours.
A few key ingredients to this recipe is the chicken broth (you can make your own), lemon zests, salt and pepper. Finally, after a few hours the Rosemary lemon chicken recipe is all done!
